Discovering the Nomadic Territory

Day 1: Madrid - Ulaanbaatar

The journey you so deserve is about to begin. Grab your suitcases and head to the airport to catch the flight that will take you to Ulaanbaatar, via Beijing.

Overnight on board.

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar

Lunch or dinner.

After a brief stopover in Beijing, you will take the flight that will take you to the Mongolian capital.

Once you land and complete all the procedures at customs, you will be warmly welcomed by the local driver, who will take you to your hotel.

Depending on the arrival time, you will enjoy a guided tour of the city to get acquainted, which will include a walking tour of the Main Square and the National Museum of Mongolia.

To start off on the right foot, a welcome lunch or dinner will be offered, depending on the time of arrival. Doesn’t that sound like a great way to start this new adventure?

Day 3 - 4: Ulaanbaatar

Breakfast and lunch.

How fortunate you are! During today's journey, you will have the luck to participate in the Great Naadam Festival in Ulaanbaatar, where you will experience the opening ceremony and enjoy the competitions the festival offers. You will see archery, traditional wrestling, and horse racing, along with the intriguing ankle bone shooting competitions. Sounds good, right?

If the opportunity arises, you will also explore a nearby village, delving even deeper into the local culture during this vibrant festival.

Day 5: Ulaanbaatar - Ulgii

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Today you will set course for the west of Mongolia. After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will take the flight that will take you to the province of Bayan-Ulgii.

Upon arrival, you will explore the bustling bazaar of Ulgii, where you will immerse yourself in the vibrant local life and discover unique products and crafts. You will also visit the beautiful mosque of the city, which is one of the few mosques in Mongolia and stands out for its traditional Islamic architecture.

Then, you will enjoy a dinner with a local Kazakh family in Ulgii. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about their culture and traditions, and share an authentic meal with them. Do you have the questions you want to ask them ready? Few people have the luck you will have.

Day 6: Ulgii

Breakfast and lunch.

Good morning! How about spending the day with the eagle hunters in their home? Sounds good, right? You will have the chance to immerse yourself in their fascinating way of life and have lunch with a nomadic family. You will participate in a cooking class to learn how to prepare their traditional dishes that have been passed down from generation to generation.

In the afternoon, you will drive back to the city of Ulgii and spend the night in a local hotel. Dinner is included, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy the warm Kazakh hospitality and their delicious local cuisine.

Day 7: Ulgii - Ulaanbaatar

Breakfast and lunch.

Start the day with a good breakfast and get ready to take a flight back to Ulaanbaatar.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in the city center, where you will have time to rest and recharge for the exciting days ahead in Mongolia.

If time permits, you will have the opportunity to visit the Genghis Khan Museum. There you can immerse yourself in the fascinating history of Mongolia and learn more about the life and legacy of this iconic leader. Did you know that one of his most notable achievements was the unification of Mongolia's nomadic tribes?

Day 8: Ulaanbaatar - Gobi Desert

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Today it's time to say goodbye to Ulaanbaatar again, but not before visiting the Winter Palace Museum of Bogd Khan, the winter residence of the last Mongolian emperor.

After lunch, you will be transferred to the airport to take a flight to the Gobi Desert. Upon arrival, you will be taken to the ger camp, where you will stay for 3 nights. Isn't the idea of experiencing life in a traditional camp in the middle of the desert exciting?

In the afternoon, you will visit the Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag, a site famous for the discovery of dinosaur eggs by the American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews. You will explore Bayanzag on foot or by car, admiring the wild nature and unique geological formations while searching for dinosaur remains.

You will return to the ger camp for dinner and to spend the night. Imagine dining under the starry desert sky. It will certainly be something memorable, promised.

Day 9: Gobi Desert

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Today you will finally get to see the Khongor dunes, the largest and most beautiful in Mongolia. Did you know they stretch over 200km in the arid Gobi Desert? It will undoubtedly be an exciting excursion from start to finish.

Don't blink too much, or you might miss the vast desert wastelands where remote mountains outline the horizon. You'll see solitary gers and nomads on camelback appearing in mirages, while the desert floor is sprinkled with colorful rocks and unusual minerals. This is the Gobi at its best, offering many opportunities to stop and capture photographs of the landscapes and its people. Kike Arnaiz will help you take photos that will be postcard-worthy.

Upon arrival, you will visit the impressive sand dunes and a small oasis. You will have the opportunity to climb the dunes, take photographs, and enjoy an optional short camel ride. You will return by car to the ger camp in the afternoon, with unforgettable memories of this epic landscape.

Day 10: Gobi Desert

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Start the day with a good breakfast and relax until 11:00, when you will head to the beautiful Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Park.

Upon arrival, you will visit the national park museum, which will offer you a fascinating insight into Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park and its flora and fauna. Did you know that this museum houses dinosaur remains discovered in the region?

Then, you will take a hike to the narrow Yoliin Am gorge, known for its breathtaking views and the possibility of spotting unusual wildlife. You will have lunch at a nearby ger camp, surrounded by the natural beauty of the park.

Before returning to the ger camp in the afternoon, you will visit the Khavtsgait petroglyphs, a collection of ancient rock carvings that offer a glimpse into the history and culture of the region.

Back at the camp, you will have free time to relax and reflect on the day. Which part of the park impressed you the most?

Day 11: Gobi Desert - Ulaanbaatar

Breakfast and lunch.

Enjoy your last morning at the ger camp, because the adventure is coming to an end. Today you will take the return flight to Ulaanbaatar for the last time.

You will have free time to explore the city. This is the perfect moment if you feel like doing some souvenir shopping, cashmere, or other keepsakes. What would you like to take as a memento of your Mongolian adventure?

Day 12: Ulaanbaatar

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Good morning! Today, at 9:00, you will be picked up at the hotel to head towards Terelj National Park, where an exciting day awaits you. You will visit the Meditation Temple and the impressive Turtle Rock. Can you guess which animal this rock formation resembles?

After this interesting visit, you will have lunch in the picturesque Terelj Valley while enjoying the natural beauty of the area.

On the way back to Ulaanbaatar, you will stop at the majestic giant statue of Genghis Khan.

The day's excitement doesn't end here, as at 5:00 PM you will attend a vibrant Mongolian folklore concert, immersing yourself in the musical traditions of the region. How lucky are you?

As the cherry on top, you will have a farewell dinner to celebrate the end of this unforgettable adventure, sharing with your travel companions, Kike Arnaiz and Rafael Sobrino, everything experienced in the last few days.

Day 13 and 14: Ulaanbaatar - Spain

Breakfast.

And for a new adventure to begin, another one must first come to an end. So today it's time to put an end to this unforgettable trip and return home. Head to the airport and take your flight to Spain, via Beijing (overnight on board).
