Night on board.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

Welcome to Tanzania! You have finally set foot on African soil, and you are already being welcomed at Kilimanjaro International Airport.

Once you have passed the customs controls and with the vehicles loaded, you will head towards Tarangire to enjoy your first safari of the trip. Did you know that this park is the third largest in Tanzania? Moreover, it is a sanctuary for a huge elephant population, and it is said that Tarangire Park hosts some of the largest herds in East Africa.

You will spend the day surrounded by the typical baobabs of the African savannah while observing the animals in their natural habitat. Remember: the stranger there is you, and it is the animals who will open the doors of their home to you. What a privilege! You will enjoy a picnic-style lunch before going on an afternoon safari.

You will have the good fortune to stay inside Tarangire National Park. Who knows, you might see some animals roaming freely around the Eco-Lodge area.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park - Karatu

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Good morning! After a breakfast in the middle of the savannah, while the sunrise illuminates the horizon, another exciting morning safari awaits you in Tarangire National Park.

Then, you'll head to the town of Mto Wa Mbu, where you'll enjoy a delicious meal prepared with typical dishes of the region, carefully cooked by a community of empowered women. You will also have the opportunity to learn how to prepare a traditional Tanzanian dish, quite an experience!

After this stop, a fascinating visit to the Iraqw tribe awaits you, to learn about their culture and traditions.

At the end of the tour, you will head to Karatu, where your next accommodation is located. This charming colonial-style lodge, situated at the foot of the Ngorongoro highlands, features extensive gardens, a pool, and unparalleled views.

Accommodation.

Day 4: Karatu - Lake Eyasi

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You will set out early in the morning towards the protected area of Lake Eyasi, where a unique experience awaits you. Did you know that two of Africa's oldest tribes inhabit this region? You will meet the Hadzabe, hunters and gatherers who maintain their ancient traditions, living off the land as they have for generations. They are also known for speaking some of the northwestern Khoisan languages, characterized by incorporating click sounds. We will spend time with a family to closely observe their daily life. Can you imagine following their footsteps through the forest, learning about their hunting and gathering techniques?

You will also meet the Datoga, a people of pastoralists and Neolithic warriors, who have a fascinating history of resistance and adaptation in this arid area. They will show you their culture up close, as you immerse yourself in a way of life so different yet so rich in wisdom.

Afterward, you will enjoy a picnic by the lake shore, surrounded by the vast landscape and the echo of these ancestral stories. And after this day of discovery, you will return to the lodge in Karatu, where you can relax in its gardens or by the pool, while enjoying views that will leave you speechless. What better way to end such a day?

Day 5: Ngorongoro

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

If there is a place that Tanzania can boast about, it is the Ngorongoro Crater, and today you have the fortune of being able to visit it. You will start your day early, heading towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to make the most of every moment of the day.

Upon arrival, you will ascend to the ridge surrounding the immense caldera, from where you will begin the descent. Can you imagine being at the top of one of the most iconic places in Africa, nicknamed "The Garden of Eden" by Hemingway? It’s hard not to feel awe at the sight of the vastness of the caldera, one of the largest in the world, with walls rising more than 600 meters, covered by lush forests.

The Ngorongoro crater is the result of an enormous volcanic explosion that created this impressive "hole," which seems like a world apart. Did you know that this crater hosts an incredible variety of ecosystems? Inside, you will discover forests, lakes, and savannas, forming a natural mosaic that will take your breath away. More than 25,000 animals live permanently at the bottom of the crater or, in other words, within the crater lies the largest stable concentration of wildlife on the planet. Going on a safari in Ngorongoro is akin to spending a day in Noah's Ark, how amazing!

How would you feel if I told you that you will have lunch inside the crater? Indeed, you will enjoy a picnic inside the Ngorongoro crater itself, in front of the freshwater lake of Ngoitokitok.

The interior of Ngorongoro resembles a miniature continent, perfectly designed to host a unique display of African wildlife. Its 20 kilometers in diameter harbor an astonishing number of animals, including the majestic and threatened black rhino. Additionally, you might encounter elephants, lions, zebras, and many other species that coexist in this corner of Africa. Every landscape here tells a story, and every view will remind you of the wonder of the natural world.

To end your day, you will enjoy spectacular views of the protected landscapes of the conservation area as you head to your accommodation.

Accommodation.

Day 6: Ngorongoro - Ndutu

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

This morning, you will cross the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will make a very special stop: an authentic Maasai village. Here, you will have the opportunity to closely learn about the traditions of this ancient people, who continue to live in deep harmony with nature. Can you imagine walking among them, sharing stories, and learning about their way of life so different from ours?

Then, you will enter a key place for the history of humanity: the Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important sites in East Africa. This paleontological and archaeological site, known as the "cradle of humankind," houses some of the oldest human remains. It was thanks to the excavations by the Leakey couple that it was discovered that there are almost two million years of history buried in these rocks. Did you know that fossils dating back more than 1.8 million years were discovered here?

You will begin your journey through the great plains, descending a steep path. As you progress, different layers of terrain will be revealed, some of them rich in fossils that tell our ancestral history. Upon reaching the bottom of the gorge, a mostly dry stream will mark the route. The second part of the walk takes place along the riverbed, then ascends to the other side of the gorge, where you will visit the fascinating Olduvai Museum and the iconic Laetoli footprints, which show us how our early ancestors walked on two legs.

After this immersion in prehistory, you will enjoy lunch at the camp, surrounded by the tranquility of this unique environment. And to end the day on a high note, an evening safari through this magnificent area awaits you. The landscapes and wildlife will surprise you at every turn.

As night falls, you will stay in a fully integrated tent camp in the Ndutu area, south of the Serengeti. Here, with the starry sky as your roof, you will feel part of nature in its purest state. What better way to rest after a day full of discoveries and emotions?

Day 7: Ndutu - Serengeti National Park

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

After a beautiful sunrise and a complete breakfast, you will continue your journey with a morning safari, crossing the vast plains that connect the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with the Serengeti National Park, until you reach the heart of the Serengeti, the Seronera area.

The endless plains of the Serengeti, with their nearly 15,000 square kilometers of surface, are dotted with acacias, wooded savannas, and forests. Their grasslands intermingle with broad kopjes, rocky outcrops like islands on the plain, and rivers flow through the park, providing a habitat for a wide variety of birds, mammals, and reptiles. Did you know that the name of the park, Serengeti, means “endless plain” and is derived from the Maasai language, from the word 'Siringiti'?

By lunchtime, you will already be at your accommodation, but this time it will be well-conditioned tents in the heart of the Park. After a well-deserved rest and a coffee with unforgettable views, you will set out for an afternoon safari in Seronera.
