Did you know that this palace is not only the seat of the government but also a symbol of Chilean identity?

After immersing yourself in history, you will enjoy a pleasant walk along the pedestrian walkways of Huérfanos and Ahumada, where most of the city's commercial activity is concentrated. You will continue your tour at the Pre-Columbian Museum, a fascinating place dedicated to the study and exhibition of pre-Columbian art and artifacts from South and Central America. This museum is a true cultural treasure that will allow you to connect with the region's roots and admire works of incredible beauty.

Day 3: Santiago - Hanga Roa

Breakfast.

Today it's time to say goodbye to Santiago and embark on a new adventure in Rapa Nui. At the designated time, you will be taken to the airport to catch the flight that will take you to this magical island.

Upon arriving at Mataveri International Airport, whose name in Rapa Nui means "beautiful eyes," you will be welcomed with the warmth of the local people. Did you know that this airport is the most remote in the world? Once there, you'll be transferred to Ahu Akivi, a sacred place that houses seven reconstructed moais, each with its own story.

Ahu Akivi is special as it is situated inland, unlike other collections of statues. What stories do you think these imposing moais hold? From there, you will continue to Ahu Huri a Urenga, the only moai with four hands, notable for its uniqueness and its connection to Rapa Nui culture.

Afterwards, you will visit the important Puna Pau quarry, the only source of the red scoria used by the ancient inhabitants to carve the pukaos, the distinctive "hats" of the moais. Imagine the skill and labor required for that task.

The visit will culminate with a return to the coast, where you will explore the ceremonial site of Tahai, which has three completely intact Ahus and several restored statues. You will also be able to observe the remains of ancient boat sheds and the ramp system they used centuries ago.

Each step on this day will bring you closer to the rich history and legacy of Rapa Nui. Are you ready to explore this treasure of humanity?

Day 4: Hanga Roa

Breakfast and lunch.

What is it like to wake up in one of the most remote places on Earth? After a delicious breakfast, you'll be ready to head out to Hanga Poukura, a fascinating site that houses several Ahu in various states of disrepair.

Then, you will continue to an unrestored Ahu called Vaihu, located in the bay of Hanga Te’e on the southern coast of the island. This place is a silent witness to a phase of destruction that occurred centuries ago, and its current state will allow you to reflect on the passage of time and the adversities faced by the Rapa Nui culture.

Your next stop will be in the region of Ahu Akahanga, where legend says lies the tomb of the famous King Hotu Matua.

The excursion will then take you to one of the most important sites of Rapa Nui culture: the Rano Raraku quarry. Approximately 900 statues were carved here, many of which still lie on the site, as if waiting to be awakened. What emotions do you think you will feel when surrounded by these colossal monuments?

To finish the day, you will visit the imposing Ahu Tongariki, which features 15 statues standing, majestically aligned. This site is one of the most photographed and admired on the island, and its grandeur will leave you breathless.

Additionally, you will enjoy a Box Lunch to recharge your energy and continue exploring.

Lodging.

Day 5: Hanga Roa

Breakfast and lunch.

After a nutritious breakfast, you will embark on your adventure to the north coast of the island, where you will discover one of the least frequented and magical places: Ahu Ra’ai. Here, you will find yourself in a privileged location where the sunrise and sunset occur during the December solstice, a natural phenomenon that illuminates two significant mountains of the island.

Your journey will continue to Te Pito Kura, known as the "Navel of the World." This place, along with Ahu Te Pito Kura, will allow you to observe the famous magnetic stone of Te Pito o Te Henua. Did you know that this stone is considered sacred by the inhabitants of Rapa Nui and is said to possess special properties? It will be fascinating to learn more about its significance and the tradition surrounding it.

Finally, you will arrive at the beautiful Anakena beach, a true tropical paradise. Here you will find two ceremonial platforms, Ahu Nau Nau and Ahu Ature Huki, which will give you a unique opportunity to appreciate the grandeur of Rapa Nui culture. Additionally, you can relax on the pink sand beach, surrounded by palm trees and the gentle sea breeze. Can you imagine resting here, feeling the sand between your feet as you are carried away by the sound of the waves? It will be a memory you will never forget.

Day 6: Hanga Roa

Breakfast.

You will start your day in Rapa Nui with a visit to the Rapa Nui Museum, formally known as the Father Sebastian Englert Anthropological Museum (MAPSE). This museum pays tribute to Father Sebastian Englert, who dedicated his life to the preservation and dissemination of Rapa Nui culture. Here, you can explore an impressive collection of objects and documents that will immerse you in the rich history and traditions of the island. Did you know that this museum is one of the best places to learn about the culture and life of the inhabitants of Rapa Nui?

In the afternoon, an exciting hike awaits you to Ana Te Pahu and Ana Te Peu. This adventure will begin near Ahu Akivi and will lead you to explore Ana Te Pahu, known as the banana cave. This cave has a fascinating history and is a perfect place to enjoy the natural beauty of the island. You will also visit Ahu Tepeu, another important site with much to offer in terms of history and scenery.

If time permits, you will have the opportunity to explore Ana Kakenga, another cave that offers spectacular views of the ocean and the surrounding landscape. Remember to bring your camera, as every corner of this tour is photo-worthy.

  1. Ma’unga Parehe (shattered hill), where you will climb to the top to admire the moai that stands at this impressive viewpoint.

  2. Ma’unga Tea Tea (white hill), known for its landscapes and geological formations.

  3. Ma’unga Vai a Heva (hill of magical water), a place full of legends and cultural meanings.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to see the small basalt outcrop known as Papa Ui Hetu’u, which means "rock to see the stars." The view from here is spectacular and will leave you amazed, promised.

After enjoying the hike and returning to the hotel, in the afternoon you will embark on a boat excursion to the islands of Motu Iti, Motu Nui, and Motu Kao Kao, located off the ceremonial site of Orongo. During the boat ride, you will sail along the coast, enjoying the impressive views of Easter Island and its mysterious caves.

As you return, you will have the opportunity to reflect on how the 18th-century European sailors felt when they first saw the gigantic moais on the island. This experience will connect you even more with the history and culture of Rapa Nui.

Accommodation.

Day 8: Hanga Roa

Breakfast.

Today is your last full day in Hanga Roa, so you'll have the day free to enjoy the final hours on this beautiful island. Take this time for leisurely walks, explore corners you haven't yet discovered, or simply relax on the beach and enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you.

If you like shopping, this is the perfect time to acquire souvenirs and local crafts. You can visit the craft shops offering typical Rapa Nui products, from jewelry to textiles, perfect for taking a piece of the island with you.

For the more adventurous, there is a unique opportunity to take home a permanent souvenir of your trip: a tattoo done by a local artist. This experience is not included in the price, but it's a special way to connect with the island's culture and take a symbol of your adventure in Rapa Nui with you.
