The Sukhothai Historical Park is a very important part of Thai history, not only for being the first capital of the Kingdom but also for laying some of the most important foundations of its culture: Theravada Buddhism, the monarchy, and, above all, the Thai alphabet. Within its more than 70 square kilometers, the Sukhothai Historical Park has endless things to see both in the old part of the city, where the park is located, and in the new Sukhothai, perfect for staying and enjoying the atmosphere of its night market. Inside the historical park, within the walls, are most of the temples. From the largest, Wat Mahathat to one of the oldest, Wat Si Sawai, each of them will reveal part of the history to you.
