Brașov: The city between mountains and fortifications
Welcome to the most visited city in Romania! Indeed, a trip to Brasov is truly remarkable. In the region of Transylvania, this city was Saxon territory and also a perfect place to defend against both Turks and Mongols. That's why the Old Town of the city is filled with fortifications, like the Graft bastion, and defensive towers: those white and black towers give it a medieval character that makes it unique. But that's not the only thing to see in the oldest part of Brasov. In the Town Hall Square, you'll find Baroque buildings from the Saxon era, such as the Old Town Hall and the Black Church, the largest Gothic cathedral in Romania!

The city was founded at the foot of Mount Tampa, where a sign—in true Hollywood style—reminds you upon entering that your trip to Brasov has just begun. The views from there are unparalleled, and it marks a beautiful hiking route from which you can see the oldest part of the city. To the north, in the new area, is the Government and Municipal Office, where a memorial monument remembers the victims of the Revolution of 1989. Have a great time and be careful with the bears!
