Tortuguero National Park: Main Costa Rican Tourist Icon
The Tortuguero National Park owes its fame to the turtle nesting that takes place each year between the months of March and July. Of the four species of turtles that frequent this black sand beach, only the largest in the world, the leatherback turtle, does so between February and July. Our commitment goes beyond designing trips. At PANGEA, we collaborate with Rescate Wildlife Rescue Center, the largest wildlife rescue center in Central America, located in La Garita de Alajuela. Since 1989, this space has been dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of thousands of animals each year, with a clear objective: to return them to their natural habitat and preserve the biodiversity of Costa Rica. It also promotes breeding programs for endangered species and offers a permanent sanctuary to those who can no longer return to the wild. Because traveling also means caring for the life that makes a country unique.
